Successful Completion of Key Activities of “Value & Future”

The University of Nicosia and Intercollege are pleased to announce the successful completion of the key activities of the project Value & Future.

Value & Future is a three-year project (2021-2023), funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, during which educational institutions from Cyprus, Greece, Germany, Lithuania, Spain and Germany collaborated with the common goal of empowering Vocational Education and Training (VET) learners, regarding the topic of ethical entrepreneurship and leadership.

For the implementation of the project’s key activities, a large number of Intercollege students studying in the fields of Aesthetic Studies and Culinary Arts actively participated in a series of tailor-made lessons and workshops regarding business ethics, which gave them the opportunity to collectively reflect on the ethical dilemmas facing today’s entrepreneurs and to reach their own conclusions regarding the importance of corporate responsibility and its relation to sustainability in today’s business world. The training was conducted under the guidance of Intercollege’s teaching staff in direct collaboration with the academic staff of the University of Nicosia.

The final project results were presented during a Multiplier Event that was held on May 26th, 2023, at the University of Nicosia. During this informational event, the participants had the opportunity to hear about the pilot delivery of the ethical entrepreneurship and leadership lessons and workshops in the Aesthetics Study Programme from Dr Marios Stylianou, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Aesthetics Studies at Intercollege, and also about the role and importance of ethics in today’s businesses from Ms Popi Psaliou, General Manager of Curis Healthcare, a company that applies pioneering practices in the field of ethical entrepreneurship in Cyprus.

Furthermore, during the informational event, Dr Alexandros Antonaras, Associate Professor at the University of Nicosia and Scientific Coordinator of the Value and Future project in Cyprus, presented the Value and Future Trainer’s Guide, which was developed jointly by all transnational project partners.  The Trainer’s Guide contains detailed training material, as well as a number of tailor-made case studies from all partner countries, and can be utilized by VET institutions in Cyprus and abroad in order to integrate ethical entrepreneurship and leadership learning horizontally across different study programmes.

Finally, Intercollege students and the scientific team of the project had time to discuss collectively and exchange views on the multiple benefits and opportunities presented by the pilot training and how it could be further utilized by the College in the future.
