Positive Incidents

Once a person, either from the Academic staff or from the student community, is positively diagnosed, he/she should:

  • Immediately self-isolate in his/her own space. In case the positive incident stays in the unic residences, he/she should follow the instructions regarding the accommodation in a home.
  • Communicate directly with his / her Program Coordinator or with the College’s Administrative staff, providing relevant information.
  • Provide information regarding his/her close contacts within the College during the last 48 hours prior to the diagnosis.
  • Follow the procedure of submitting his/her close contacts by filling the relevant form provided by the Ministry of Health.

Based on the latest directive of the Ministry of Health dated 8/3/2022, the following apply (https://www.pio.gov.cy/coronavirus/categories/info):

Since March 8, 2022, virus-positive incidents may be released on day 7, provided they have assured a Negative Rapid Antigen test at predetermined points indicated by the Department of Health and show no active symptoms. It is reminded that the date of the laboratory diagnosis of the positive incident is considered as day zero (the counting starts the next day from the lab diagnosis).

Only the laboratory tests that will be performed at the predetermined points of the Ministry of Health, will be recognized as valid ones for release purposes before the 10th day. (Those who will not follow the above procedure will be able to be released automatically based on the procedure valid on the 10th day). If the result is negative on the 7th day, the positive incident should continue his/her self-isolation until he/she receives the release message from the Ministry of Health according to which he/she will be released on the next day (8th day of isolation) and will be able to issue the Covid Certificate through the portal https://www.eudcc.gov.cy/.

If the result is still positive on the 7th day, the person has the opportunity to repeat the test procedure on the 8th or even the 9th day, rushing to the same point indicated by the Ministry of Health on the 6th day, or to limit him/herself until the 10th day where he /she will be released without an additional testing.
