The event “Becoming a Merchant Navy Officer for a Day” was successfully held at the Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Maritime Training Centre (BSM-MTC) at Limassol Marina

The event was organized by Intercollege and the Cyprus Maritime Academy, aiming to offer students and young people the opportunity to get a close-up view of the world of commercial shipping, learn about the career prospects in the sector, and gain hands-on experience of the role of a Merchant Navy Officer.

Participants had the chance to attend a short presentation, tour the state-of-the-art bridge and engine room simulators, and engage in discussions with experienced officers and instructors about the demands and responsibilities of life at sea.

The event is part of the career orientation activities of Intercollege and the Cyprus Maritime Academy, highlighting the vital role of maritime education in Cyprus — a country with a strong presence in global shipping.
