IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT COMMENCEMENT OF FALL 2020 SEMESTER
Dear Students,
We hope that you are all well and keeping safe and have enjoyed a relaxing summer holiday despite the challenging period we are all going through.
We would like to reassure you that Intercollege is making every effort to provide you with a safe and high-quality teaching and learning environment. As always, your health and wellbeing remain our highest priority.
Taking into account the relevant instructions and announcements of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and of the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA/DIPAE) of the Republic of Cyprus, together with the current epidemiological data concerning COVID-19 in Cyprus and abroad, we would like to inform you of the following important developments and decisions:
Mode of Delivery of Courses for the Fall 2020 Semester
The courses of the Academic Programs of Intercollege will be offered using one of the following modes of delivery:
- Online: Your physical presence at the College will not be required for specific courses.
- Face-to-Face/with Physical Presence: Your physical presence at the College will be necessary.
- Hybrid: Partly Online and partly Face-to-Face with Physical presence.
You will receive analytical information regarding the specific mode of delivery to be adopted for each course from your program coordinators.
In-course assessment during the Fall 2020 Semester may be conducted utilizing alternative modes of assessment while decisions regarding the Final Exams of the semester will be taken at a later stage taking into consideration the guidelines of the Cyprus Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education Agency (DIPAE).
Students who are Unable to Attend Classes Face-to-Face
If you belong to a designated vulnerable group or for any serious reason are unable to physically attend, you will be able to study online by taking online courses or selected face-to-face courses that will provide livestreaming or other type of online support. To this end, a relevant application should be completed and submitted to your program coordinator.
Training Seminars & Induction-Orientation Day
Both online and face-to-face training seminars on the various online learning platforms and tools of the College will be provided to students at the commencement and throughout the Fall 2020 semester. New students who will be in Cyprus are advised to attend the training in small groups, with physical presence on-campus.
For new students, an induction-orientation day will take place on 25/09/2020 and aims towards their smooth introduction into the student life of the College. New students have already been informed of the specific event.
Students remaining outside Cyprus
The students that are registered in the Academic Programs of Intercollege and have chosen to remain outside Cyprus during the Fall 2020 Semester, will have the possibility to follow their courses online either through live-streaming or through other methods of online delivery.
The laboratory courses for the specific students (where applicable), will be delivered before the conclusion of the Fall 2020 Semester following specific information and instructions that will be provided by the program-coordinators of the affected academic programs.
Dear Students,
The COVID-19 Pandemic has drastically changed our way of life. In March 2020, Intercollege together with the wider family of the University of Nicosia, rose successfully to the challenge making full use of the available technology and embracing work-and-study from home. Afterwards, in June 2020, the strict enforcement of COVID-19 Health and Safety protocols allowed our students to return to Intercollege to conclude their laboratory courses and take part in their final exams, enabling the safe and successful conclusion of the Spring 2020 Semester.
This experience allows us to face the future wisely but also with optimism.
We wish to all our students a happy return and/or beginning at Intercollege and a successful and productive Fall 2020 Semester.
