Frequently Asked Questions
Student Mobility for Studies
(This applies only to Intercollege Limassol students)
As a student at Intercollege, you have the opportunity to study for part of your degree in another European country (Student Mobility for Studies or SMS).
With regard to SMS, Intercollege Limassol has student exchange agreements with various European institutions from which you may choose. From your second year of study onwards, you can spend one or two semesters studying at one of the College’s partner institutions. The period abroad will be fully accredited towards your final degree and no fee from the host institution will be charged during your stay.
For the requirements of such mobilities please click here.
As an initiative to encourage student mobility, eligible students will receive a monthly ERASMUS+ grant, depending on the host country and length of stay.
First year students: Although you are not eligible to participate in the ERASMUS+ programme until your second year, it is advisable to start researching your opportunities abroad early. You can apply while in your first year for second year participation. Planning ahead is highly recommended as, for some of our partner institutions, you may require a reasonable knowledge of their native language.
Student Mobility for Placement
With regard to Student Mobility for Placement or SMP, under Erasmus+ all students registered at Intercollege are entitled to be placed in an enterprise in the field of their studies for training or job shadowing. The duration is of a minimum of two months stay for 2-year programmes and a minimum of 3 months for 4-year programmes, including summers or other holidays. Students wishing to benefit from this opportunity are elligible to do it from their first year of studies. For the requirements for such mobilities please press here.
Announcements for such opportunities will be placed in the Erasmus+ Office and/or Student Affairs Office.
Although students benefiting from SMP will not necessarily be paid directly by the enterprise they will work for, as all partcipating students will receive an ERASMUS+ grant, depending on the host country and length of stay.
Credit Recognition From Mobilities
Although Intercollege utilises its own credit system, for international purposes all programs/courses accredited prior to 2008 use the ECTS system as well. The new programs have completely adopted the ECTS system.
Methodology: Before one of our students goes abroad, the Program Coordinator, academic advisor and Director of Academic Affairs evaluate the syllabus, course description and learning outcomes of the courses in question in the learning agreement. They decide the credit equivalent in our credit system. The student is credited with these credits upon proof of successful completion of the courses.
