Gas Technician Programme
Andreas Andreou is a Chemical Engineer and a graduate of the Metsovio Polytechnic University of Athens. At the same time, he holds a Master’s Degree in the interdisciplinary subject of “Environment and Development” NTUA and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Cyprus International Institute of Management.
Andreas Hadjithomas obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of Cyprus. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, he worked as a Structural and Site Engineer. He, later, earned the degree Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Structural Steel Design from Imperial College London. Additionally, he recently obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology from the Institute for Advanced Study of Pavia, Italy
Andreas Theodoulides holds a postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from the Polytechnic School of Thrace as well as a postgraduate degree from the University of Manchester (University of Manchester) in the United Kingdom. He has been working for Intercollege Nicosia since 2016.
Dimitris Panagiotou holds a Bachelor and a Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering with a direction in Aeronautics from the Metsovio Polytechnic University where he studied from 1999 to 2004. He also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cyprus from 2006 to 2008.
Dr Sarris Ernestos is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Engineering at the Oil & Gas program of the University of Nicosia. He is the director of two laboratories. The Petrophysics (rocks and fluid properties) and the Soil Mechanics. He has a Ph.D in Petroleum Geomechanics with applications to hydraulic fracturing.
George Philippides holds a Higher Engineering Diploma of the Higher Technical Institute. He obtained a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Budapest University of Technology & Economics in 2001. As of 2014 he is employed as a Full Time faculty for Intercollege.
George Vassiliou acquired the first degree as a Mechanical from the Higher Technical Institute, in 1990. He continued his studies at the City College of the City University of the United States, from where, in 1994, he obtained a B.Eng. (Bachelor in Engineering) degree with honors (Summa Cum Laude student) in the sector of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Energy. Following, in 1996 he acquired a Master’s degree with honors in M.Eng in the sector of Mechanical Engineering specializing Fluid Mechanics.
Maria Theodorou holds a degree in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Wales in Cardiff. She has a 17-year experience as an English teacher in secondary education and a 15-year experience in higher (tertiary) education. Since 2001, she has been working at Intercollege in Nicosia while for the last seven years she’s been intrigued in the vocational programs of the College.
Maria Charalambous-Christodoulou is a graduate of the University of Athens with a degree in Mathematics and a postgraduate degree in Applied Mathematics. She has a 12-year experience as a teacher in higher (tertiary) education. She has worked as a teaching assistant and a scientific associate in Universities in Cyprus and Greece. Since 2014 she has been teaching all courses related to mathematics in vocational training areas at Intercollege Nicosia.
Marinos Christoforou has completed studies in Mechanical Engineering at Fremantle College Western Australia. He is a part time faculty member at Intercollege specifically in the department Oil and Gas Technician program since 2014.
Marios Stylianou is a Chemistry Lecturer who has been working at the University of Nicosia and Intercollege in Nicosia, teaching Chemistry courses for the School of Health Sciences Departments and other related departments that require knowledge of Chemistry. He holds a PhD in Chemistry in Organic and Synthetic Bioinorganic Chemistry from the University of Cyprus
Myria Avraamidou is awarded a degree BA ( Hons) in Business Studies, MPhil in HRM Human Resource Management at Glasgow Caledonian University Scotland, based on a thesis, An investigation of the relationship between aspects of HRM.
Panagiotis Andreou holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Science of Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cyprus. He also holds a second postgraduate diploma from the National Technical University of Athens. Since September 2013 is a PhD candidate in Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of the University of Cyprus.
Pantelis Iona holds a Bachelor Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cyprus and a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. He is a Civil Engineer and he has been working at Intercollege Nicosia since 2016 for the Gas Technician Program.
Paris has a strong academic background and knowledge of various disciplines related to the petroleum and mechanical engineering. He is a team player with strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills, having the ability to handle tasks effectively and responsibly.
Dr Pittakaras Paris received BEng and MEng degree in Environmental Engineering from Technical University of Crete, PhD degree in Civil Engineering (Zero Energy Buildings in hot climate countries) from Manchester University, Diploma degree in Teaching from Manchester University.
Dr. Stylianos Hirodontis acquired the first degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester England, in 2006. Subsequently he acquired a Masters in Electrical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, in 2008. He acquired his PhD from the University of Manchester in 2010. He worked on research projects at the Cyprus University and as of 2014 he has been working for Intercollege as Program Coordinator for “Electrical Engineering Technicians”.
Renos Karagiannis acquires a diploma from CITY & GUILDS, Level 2 IVQ Diploma in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning and several other certificates from various organizations inherent to the use and management of combustible gases and refrigerants. He has twenty years of experience in the field of refrigerants and generally in liquefied and natural gas.
Chrysanthi Papaioannou holds a Bachelor degree of Arts in English Language and Literature from the American College of Greece and a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the University of Exeter in England. She has 14 years of experience as an English teacher, 5 in private education and 9 years of experience in higher education. She has been working at Intercollege Nicosia since 2006.
