Culinary Arts Programme
Angeliki Antoniou holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree from the University Paris IV- Sorbonne in France. In 1999 she acquired her Bachelor’s degree in the French language and literature and in 2000 she finished her Master’s Degree in Travel Literature from the University Paris IV-Sorbonne in France. In 2008 she underwent an intensive teacher training program in Vichy, France, and in 2014 she obtained a second Master’s degree in Didactics of Plurilingualism from the Maine University in France.
Angelos Iacovides it’s the managing director of Scenario Group. He studied Media and Communication at Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom. He is a lecturer at INTERCOLLEGE teaching Marketing and Public Relations. He is also Head of Marketing and Communication for INTERCOLLEGE and the University of Nicosia – Cyprus Maritime Academy .
Mr Christos Ioannou holds a BA (Hons) in International Accounting from the University of Northampton and a Master in Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Leicester. Furthermore, he holds the professional qualifications of Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Manager and Certified Financial Consultant. He is a lecturer in Accountancy at the University of Nicosia and Intercollege Nicosia and furthermore he is a Doctorate (DBA) candidate at the same University.
Dr. Epaminondas is a graduate of the University of Cambridge where he studied with a full scholarship and holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the Imperial College of London and a PhD from Manchester Business School of the University of Manchester. In the last five years he has been working at the University of Nicosia and Intercollege
Fani Papamichael holds a degree in “Sociology with a minor in Political Science” from the University of Cyprus and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Cyprus Institute of Management. She is a Certified Trainer from the Human Resource Development Authority of Cyprus.
Mrs. Fotini Lappa is a Dietitian/Nutritionist specializing in Sports Nutrition. She has obtained her Bachelor degree in Nutrition from the University of Surrey (UK). She also holds a Master’s of Science (Medical Science) in Human Nutrition with an emphasis in Sports Nutrition from the University of Glasgow (UK). She is currently (since 2010) a lecturer in Nutrition and Food Science in the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Department of Intercollege and the University of Nicosia.
George Georgiou graduated from the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus (HHIC) with Higher Diploma in Culinary Arts. He continued his studies in UK where he gained the “BA with Honors in Culinary Arts combined with Event Management”. And finally he gained his “Master degree of education in Culinary Arts’’ from “Middlesex University” in UK. In 2013 he was employed by the INTERCOLLEGE Nicosia as a Lecturer on Culinary Arts program.
Georgia Koutrouza is a registered lawyer in the Cyprus Bar Association Registry and the college’s partner as a part-time lecturer in the course of “Business Law”. She has her own law firm and works with Istos Global accounting firm.
After his BSc in Business Economics in 1994 and working for 3 years, Charis Tapakis earned a Master’s in Business Administration (MSc) in 1998. Since 2001 he has been working as a Business Advisor and Adult Trainer, while he previously held management positions. He specializes in training modules such as: Strategy & Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Organization, Teamwork, Communication, Culture and Values, Change Management, Managerial Practices, Customer Management, and Creativity in problem solving. Since 2014, he is an instructor at Intercollege in Nicosia
Maria Charalambous-Christodoulou is a graduate of the University of Athens with a degree in Mathematics and a postgraduate degree in Applied Mathematics. She has a 12-year experience as a teacher in higher (tertiary) education. She has worked as a teaching assistant and a scientific associate in Universities in Cyprus and Greece. Since 2014 she has been teaching all courses related to mathematics in vocational training areas at Intercollege Nicosia.
Maria Theodorou holds a degree in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from the University of Wales in Cardiff. She has a 17-year experience as an English teacher in secondary education and a 15-year experience in higher (tertiary) education. Since 2001, she has been working at Intercollege in Nicosia while for the last seven years she’s been intrigued in the vocational programs of the College.
Nicholas Orphanides is a lecturer at the College, holding the position of the Coordinator of “Diploma in Culinary Arts” and “BA Culinary Arts Management”. He holds extensive experience in coordinating and teaching in higher education programs and possesses comprehensive expertise in presentations, lectures and teaching both in academia and the hospitality industry. He is a certified instructor with the “Human Resource Development Cyprus” (HRDA), and has served as a Secretary (BoD member) of the Cyprus Chefs Association for seven consecutive years. He studied “Hotel Management” in the “Institut Hôtelier Cesar Ritz” in Switzerland, and then he was granted the “BA in Hotel Business Management” from De Montfort University in England. He holds a MBA with specialization in Management from the University of Nicosia.
Nikolas Konstantinou graduated from the A’ Technical School in Nicosia, from the Hotel Department as a Chef. He then studied at Intercollege, where he graduated with a Distinction in Culinary Arts Diploma. He continued his studies at the University of Nicosia, in the section of Hospitality and Tourism Management. In 2016 he graduated with a Distinction and received his degree in Culinary Arts Management of Intercollege. During the last 15 years he had been working at hotel units in various provinces of Cyprus.
Panayiotis Theodosiou graduated from IXET Cyprus (current HHIC). Since 1986 he engaged in teaching Culinary Arts and occasionally collaborated with HHIC (Higher Hotel Institute Cyprus).. He upgraded his qualifications, obtained the Higher Diploma in Culinary Arts, and the Master in “Culinary Arts in Higher Education”. Since 2010 he works in Nicosia as a lecturer in INTERCOLLEGE teaching Cooking, Pastry and Bakery.
Mr. Yiannis Kouis holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel-Restaurant and Tourism Administration from the University of New Orleans, U.S.A. and a Master’s Degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University in New York, U.S.A. He worked in the industry both in America and in Cyprus, holding managerial positions in hotel and restaurant businesses. From 1993 to 2006 he was the Head of the Department of the Hospitality and Tourism Program at Intercollege and from 2006 to 2009 he taught in public Technical (Hotel) Schools. From 2009 to 2013 he held the position of the Director of Administration of the Cyprus Tourism Organization, where he also served on the Board of Directors from 2003 to 2008. As from 2014, he is back at Intercollege as a lecturer in the Culinary Arts Management Program.
Chrysanthi Papaioannou holds a Bachelor degree of Arts in English Language and Literature from the American College of Greece and a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the University of Exeter in England. She has 14 years of experience as an English teacher, 5 in private education and 9 years of experience in higher education. She has been working at Intercollege Nicosia since 2006.
Myria Avraamidou is awarded a degree BA ( Hons) in Business Studies, MPhil in HRM Human Resource Management at Glasgow Caledonian University Scotland, based on a thesis, An investigation of the relationship between aspects of HRM. She is a Certified trainer for the Cyprus Development of Human Resources (HRDA) and is a member of Dietitians and Nutritionists association Cyprus. She writes regularly in the press and on websites and speaks conferences, seminars and schools.
Constantinos Adamides holds a Certificate and a BSc in Computer Science.
