Library mission statement


The mission of the University of Nicosia/Intercollege Library is to provide services and resources that support the educational goals and purpose of the University. The Library is dedicated to providing quality service, resources, and the right environment for the students, faculty and researchers of the university/college as well as for its alumni.

To support its mission, the Library and its staff are committed to the following objectives:

  Ensuring that library collections, services, and information resources are responsive to curricular and academic program
    needs in terms of format, quantity, depth and diversity, to support teaching and basic research in the subject areas of the
    curriculum.
  Providing information expert guidance in the identification, interpretation and use of library materials and information.
  Adopting proven and cost-effective advances in technology including the Internet and other electronic resources.
  Providing an accessible physical environment that encourages study and knowledge, enhances the educational experience,
    and preserves the library’s collections.
  Establishing and maintaining cooperative agreements for resource sharing with other libraries.
  Demonstrating a shared commitment to continuous improvement of resources and services and to ongoing staff
    development.
  Promoting information services in a manner which reflects the international character of the university/college.
